Welcome from the Headteacher

Thank you for your interest in St Mary’s Catholic Primary School. Our website will give you a flavour of our school where our vision that ‘Everyone matters and is loved by God’ is at the heart of all that we are and all that we do as a school and builds the foundation for our learning community.

St Mary’s is a small Catholic school in the village of Marnhull; set in beautiful, spacious grounds, which are an ideal setting for children to interact, play and expand their knowledge and understanding.

We are all very proud of our small and happy school and we aim to provide a warm, enjoyable, caring atmosphere in which children can learn and succeed. We are committed to working with parents to create a partnership to enable the children to flourish and welcome children and families of all faiths and those with none – we recognise that we have so much more in common with each other than those things that make us different. We will therefore extend the warmest of welcomes to any family who chooses to send their child to our school.

Our school offers a curriculum which motivates and inspires our children to become successful life-long learners. Our curriculum has been designed ensuring that both skills and knowledge are built upon throughout each year group from EYFS to Year 6.

We know that choosing a school for your child is one of the most difficult decisions a parent can make. We recognise that as parents you, most of all, want to know that we will know your child, that your child will be looked after, loved and pushed to reach their full potential.

We pride ourselves on being a caring, open school, so please come and talk to us and share any concerns, questions or ideas you may have. We will always listen.

Our Trust Vision Statement

The Church insists on the highest standards of academic achievement in its schools, so that our young people leave us as ‘agents of change’ – educated and caring people who have the qualifications, knowledge and skills they need to flourish as human beings and make the world a better place.

Inspired by our Teacher, Jesus Christ, and his good news to the poor, we have a commitment especially to those who are disadvantaged. We are determined that a child’s start in life need not determine their future. We are committed to the well-being of the earth, our common home, inspired by the example of Pope Francis: to live wisely, think deeply and love generously.

In all our schools we will develop a culture of high expectation and aspiration, based on our fundamental belief in the dignity of all human beings. We want all our pupils to flourish in safe, happy and enriching environments, taught and supported by adults who are skilled, motivated and committed to our shared vision and values.

We will work together as one Trust, one family of schools, a community inspired by a vision for excellence. We commit ourselves to deepen our mission and raise standards in order to provide an excellent Catholic education for every child in our care.
